The Traitors (US) is an Emmy Award-winning reality competition series, inspired by the Dutch series De Verraders.
Set in the picturesque grounds of Ardross Castle in the Scottish Islands, it brings together an all-star cast for a fun yet ruthless game full of mystery and deception.
After the group of well-known contestants arrives at the beautiful castle, the host will secretly select a small number of players to become The Traitors, designating the remaining players as Faithfuls.
It is then the Faithfuls’ responsibility to find the Traitors in the group, who must keep their identities a closely guarded secret while killing and banishing as many players as possible and take home the prize fund.
Thanks to the reality competition’s international popularity, Peacock recently announced The Traitors US has been renewed for a fourth and fifth season.
While they haven’t received an official release date, season four of The Traitors is scheduled to air in early January 2026 on Peacock. Keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement.

23 all-star contestants will compete in season four of The Traitors, which includes a mix of reality TV stars, actors, athletes, and singers.

The Prize Fund
Like the previous seasons, the 2026 contestants will compete for a maximum prize fund of $250,000.
It is, however, important to note that the prize fund will start at $0, but the contestants will have many opportunities to add money to the pot by completing various mental and physical challenges.
As the money will need to be earned during the game, the prize fund may not reach $250,000, but it is likely to be close to this figure.
For instance, the season one winner walked away with the maximum sum, but the season two winners took home a share of $208,100, and the season three winners divided $204,300 between them.
The prize fund can only be awarded to either a Faithful or a Traitor, and once the players remaining have chosen to end the game.
If the Faithful win, they will split the pot. However, if a Traitor remains in the final group, they will take home the entire prize fund.
The Production
Filming reportedly started at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands in June 2025. It is believed production takes between two and four weeks.
