Who Will Star in the Movie?
The cast for the 2027 Legend of Zelda movie hasn’t been announced, but many people have thrown their hat into the ring.
For instance, Patricia Summersett, best known for voicing Princess Zelda in the video games, recently stated she would love to return to the role.
Also, Hunter Schafer, who starred in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023), has stated she is interested in playing the iconic character on the silver screen.
The actress said, “I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid, and I still play it now. Who knows! That would be pretty cool.”
Many fans have already started debating who might play Link, but there hasn’t been an official announcement.

If the role doesn’t go to one of the above actors, betting odds predict it could go to a North American actor, such as Timothee Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Jacob Tremblay (Room), or Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai), to name a few.
During an appearance at IGN Arcade, Haley Joel Osment (Pay It Forward) expressed he would be eager to secure a role in the upcoming flick, too.
Who Will Direct It?
Wes Ball has signed on to direct the live-action Legend of Zelda movie. The American filmmaker is best known for directing the Maze Runner trilogy (2014 to 2018) and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024).
Ball is likely delighted to direct the flick, as he tweeted about his desire to make it in 2010. He stated his goal would be to create a movie in a similar style to Avatar (2009) by James Cameron.
When discussing the film recently, he said, “This awesome fantasy-adventure movie isn’t like Lord of the Rings. It’s its own thing. I’ve always said I’d love to see a live-action Miyazaki. That wonder and wisdom he brings to things. I’d love to see something like that.”
