The Format
The Great Christmas Light Fight will feature families, local communities, and non-profit organizations from across the United States competing with over-the-top festive displays.
Each episode focuses on different homes and displays, which compete against each other to take home the prize pot.
For instance, episode one of season 13 will see the Greason, Jimenez, and Palusso families battle against each other for the trophy.
As always, viewers can expect Christmas displays the size of a theme park, intricate creations that tell a unique story or have a specific theme, and mesmerizing light shows you won’t forget.
The Judges
Carter Oosterhouse and Taniya Nayak are expected to return to judge season 13 of The Great Christmas Light Fight.
Oosterhouse is a construction and home improvement expert, and Taniya Nayak is an experienced interior and restaurant designer. Both judges joined the show in season three, replacing Michael Moloney and Sabrina Soto.
It is their responsibility to carefully evaluate each elaborate Christmas display for its technical execution, creative design, and, most importantly, its festive spirit.
Also, the two judges tend to split duties, with one judge touring and assessing the festive light displays before choosing a winner each episode.
The Prize
Every episode of The Great Christmas Light Fight will follow various families or communities competing to win the sought-after Light Fight Trophy and the huge prize pot of $50,000. The judges will also congratulate the winning family or community in person.
