The 1% Club is a popular British game show that debuted on ITV in April 2022, attracting over 5 million viewers in its first two seasons.
Hosted by comedian Lee Mack, it serves as a TV version of an IQ test, as the questions are based on logic and common sense instead of general knowledge, unlike other game shows. More than 100 contestants compete in each episode to win the large cash prize.
Due to the show’s popularity in the UK, it led to the creation of two festive specials in 2023 and 2024.
Fans of the show will be thrilled to know a third special will return this year, as The 1% Club Christmas Special 2025 is expected to air at 9 p.m. on ITV on Christmas Day.
It will put the nation’s logic to the test once the presents are unwrapped, and the turkey has been eaten.
If you miss the festive special on December 25, 2025, you can stream it on ITVX to watch alone or with all the family.
The Format
The 1% Club Christmas Special 2025 will follow its popular format but with a festive twist.
Like the main series, 100 contestants will compete in the game show, but will need to answer Christmas-related questions.
Each contestant will strive to answer every question correctly, including the all-important 1% question that would help them secure a six-figure cash prize. Yet, they might be tempted to bow out of the competition early to take home £1,000 or more.
Viewers are invited to play along at home, which will put their seasonal logic to the test, making Christmas Day night a touch more fun for the whole family.
The Host
Lee Mack will return to host The 1% Club Christmas Special 2025. The stand-up comedian has hosted the much-loved game show since its first series in 2022.
As always, Lee Mack is likely to make viewers laugh aloud with his quick-witted comments, adding an extra splash of fun to the festive game show.
ITV released the following statement: “Establishing a new game show and finding an audience is no easy task in such a competitive field, but the combination of the 1% Club’s unique, inclusive format and our host Lee’s brilliantly spontaneous interaction with the studio audience has proved a big hit with viewers. We’re sure the Christmas Special will be a massively entertaining addition to festive telly for all the family.”
The Contestants
ITV hasn’t unveiled the 100 contestants who will appear in The 1% Club Christmas Special 2025, but it is likely to feature members of the public.
The Prize
Each contestant on The 1% Club Christmas Special 2025 will be playing for a considerable amount of money.
Every contestant will join the game show with a stake of £1,000, meaning the potential prize pot is £100,000.
When a contestant answers a question incorrectly, they are eliminated from the competition and their stake is added to the final prize pot.
During the game, contestants will have the opportunity to walk away with £1,000 or take home a share of a separate prize of £10,000 near the end.
If a contestant chooses to walk away with the money, the amount will be reduced from the final prize pot. For this reason, it is unlikely that the winner of The 1% Club Christmas Special 2025 will win £100,000, but some players have walked away with £99,000 in the past.
