Next Level Chef, a reality cooking competition series, first premiered on Fox in January 2024 to much acclaim.
After four successful seasons on the air, the network recently renewed the culinary show for a fifth and sixth season, providing more action-packed drama fans won’t want to miss.
As a result, fans can expect more competitive rivalry between the three judges, especially from Richard Blais, who is always eager to come out on top over Gordon Ramsay.
According to TV Guide, season five of Next Level Chef is scheduled to return to Fox on Thursday, February 19, 2026, providing more home bakers, social media chefs, and professional chefs with the opportunity to earn the crown and the incredible prize money.
If you miss an episode, you can stream the show the following day on Hulu or Fox Now.
Also, due to the show’s popularity, a spin-off, Next Level Baker, will arrive on TV screens in December 2025. It promises to provide the same high-stakes pressure, entertainment, and rivalry as its predecessor.
The Judges and Mentors
The Next Level Chef judges will also serve as mentors to specific contestants, adding an extra layer of competition on the panel.
The judges/mentors for the 5th season are:
- Gordon Ramsay – who also serves as host
- Nyesha Arrington
- Richard Blais
It is their job to guide the contestants to success and become the winning judge of season five, as they will provide their group with advice and support when needed, boosting their chances of victory in the competition.
After securing his first win in the fourth season, the super-competitive Richard Blais is likely eager to secure his second consecutive victory of the competition series in season five.
Yet, he faces tough competition from two-time champion Gordon Ramsay and season one winning mentor Nyesha Arrington, who will be eager to taste success in the kitchen again.
The Format
The format for season five is expected to remain the same, with the chefs battling it out in a three-storey stacked kitchen, which includes:
- The Top-Level Kitchen: Featuring a state-of-the-art kitchen with premium appliances and equipment, and luxury ingredients.
- The Mid-Level Kitchen: A standard commercial kitchen with quality ingredients, appliances, and equipment.
- The Bottom Level Kitchen: A challenging kitchen with low quality and minimal equipment, and basic ingredients.
A platform will travel between the kitchens before the start of a challenge, and the chefs must grab the best ingredients as it is lowered. However, they will only have a short window of time to grab what they need to create a delicious dish that will impress the judges.
As the platform starts from the top-level kitchen, the contestants on the basement level must create dishes from the remaining items, making the challenge harder. Yet, it provides the bottom-level contestants with more opportunities to wow the judges with their skills and creativity.
The Prize Money
The winner of season five of Next Level Chef will receive $250,000 in prize money and a year-long mentorship from all three judges.
The Contestants
The 2026 Next Level Chef contestants haven’t been officially announced by Fox. However, like previous seasons, it is expected to include a mix of:
- Home cooks
- Social media chefs
- Professional chefs
The competing cooks and chefs are likely to be announced a few weeks before the premiere of season five. Keep a lookout for an official announcement in January 2026.
