What City Will Host the Tournament?
Oslo, Norway, will host the Homeless World Cup this year. The 20th edition of the annual tournament will be held at Rådhusplassen (City Hall Square). The capital will organize the event, which The Salvation Army represents.

Who Can Participate in the Homeless World Cup?
The Homeless World Cup has strict guidelines for participants. People who participate in the tournament must be 16 years or older and should meet at least one of the below criteria:
- They must have been homeless at some point in the past twelve months (which should be in accordance with their country’s homelessness definition).
- They must earn their main income as a street paper vendor.
- They are an asylum seeker living without positive asylum status or have recently obtained residency status.
- They are in addiction rehabilitation and have experienced homelessness within the past year.
Also, players must not have played in previous Homeless World Cups to participate in the 2025 event.
Who Chooses the Players for a National Team?
The national team is responsible for selecting each player to represent their home country in the Homeless World Cup.
Most member countries will run year-round regional tournaments and host trials to select the best players for the global event. However, some countries choose to host a national tournament to replace trials.
How Many Teams Take Part in the Event?
Forty-eight men’s teams from various member countries will participate in the men’s Homeless World Cup, and 16 women’s teams will participate in the women’s tournament.
The Homeless World Cup has stated it is working with various member countries to expand the number of teams in the women’s tournament.

The Homeless World Cup provides eight exciting days of soccer/football, with many people following the event via social media and live streaming the games.
