Fish O Mania 2024
- Jul 27, 2024, Lincolnshire, UK
Are you a fan of fishing?
Then, you will be happy to know that the 2024 Fish O Mania is just around the corner and is set to kick off (or cast off) at the Westwood Lakes in Lincolnshire on July 27, 2024.
This year, there are 25 participating anglers, all of whom have exclusive profiles and have qualified to be in this competition. Fish O Mania is now over a quarter of a century old and is considered to be one of the greatest summertime sporting occasions, way up there with Wimbledon, but without the rain! The competition usually involves 24 participants, but this year it’s 25, who will have qualified through heats in Europe and England and will be playing, or fishing, to win a £50,000 prize.
The anglers include Jason Redgrave, who was the first to qualify, doing so at Warwickshire on March 30. Next to get his line in the water was Chris Reily, who did so at Boldings Pools on April 3.
Bet365 odds at 51.00 predict a 1.96 % chance that Jason Redgrave will come in first place at Fish O Mania. Discover the current Odds now HERE.
How Is Fish O Mania Won?
For those who are new to this sport, how exactly do the anglers win? Is it about how many fish they catch? Well, sort of. The catches are weighed every 30 minutes, and after the five-hour match is complete, the angler who has the greatest aggregate weight will be the champion. So, it’s not about how many fish are caught per se, but the weight of them!
Who Else Is Casting Off?
There are a few other anglers that are note-worthy in Fish O Mania 2024.
There is Matt Dawes, Kieran Marsden and Kim De Page. Dawes won the 2023 Cazoo Fish O Mania Grand Final at Westwood Lakes in Boston with a final weight of 52.875kg; that’s a lot of fish!
Next, Marsden has extensive experience with fishing and operates an array of online platforms across social media, from Facebook to YouTube to Instagram, showcasing his catches and even providing tutorials on how to catch the biggest fish with the most affordable lures and fishing rods. So, it’s pretty safe to say that he has a lot of expertise in this area, too!
Kim De Page is also very active on social media and has extensive followers on both Instagram and Facebook and is one of the only international qualifiers in this competition.
There are too many competitors to list here, but you get the idea. They have not been picked at random, and all have extensive knowledge of how to catch fish professionally. So, if you are eager to find out more about the anglers’ histories, the majority of them are on Instagram and Facebook, which will help you when it comes to placing a bet!
If you believe that Kieran Marsden will win Fish O Mania 2024, you could win £700 by betting £100 at Bet365 if he does.
