Brooks recently told Digital Spy, “You basically have Gail, who’s going to leave the Street, but in the run-up to Christmas, she has found out that some of her nearest and dearest have absolutely betrayed her. She doesn’t know who to believe. Even her dear old mum has kind of lied to her, and she really struggles with that.”
Helen Worth recently said about her departure, “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world. I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.”
In addition to Gail’s departure, the festive episode will focus on Leanne Battersby’s plan for revenge, Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s romance, and Daniel Osbourne’s love triangle.
