The 2005 revival of MasterChef quickly proved a huge hit with audiences, and it is now one of the most popular cooking competition shows on British TV.
The much-loved BBC One series regularly delights audiences with its action-packed culinary challenges, leading to the creation of an all-star version in 2011.
Celebrity MasterChef is now a primetime show, as audiences tune in to watch 15 famous faces battle it out in the kitchen to lift the trophy in the final.
Yet, they will need to delight and excite during tough cooking tests, which will see if they have what it takes to be named Celebrity MasterChef Champion in the final.
The 2025 Format and Schedule
Season 20 of Celebrity MasterChef will welcome 15 famous faces into its iconic kitchen, starting with three heat weeks that will put their culinary skills to the test.
You can expect plenty of triumphs, blunders, and chaos, which helps make the show so entertaining for viewers at home.
The best cooks from the three heat weeks will make it through to the quarterfinals, where they will face tougher challenges and constructive criticism from the experienced judges and top food critics.
Only the finest celebrity chefs will compete in the semi-finals, with the best of them all battling it out in Finals Week in the hope of being named Celebrity MasterChef Champion 2025.
The 20th season is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. (GMT) on BBC One on Monday, 17 November 2025. Episodes two and three will air on Tuesday and Thursday of the same week.
Three episodes will air each week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday over five weeks. The final is likely to air on Thursday, December 18, 2025. If you miss an episode, you can catch up at your leisure on BBC iPlayer.
The Judges
Grace Dent will make her Celebrity MasterChef debut as a judge in season 20, replacing Greg Wallace.
The respected food critic recently expressed her excitement for joining the show, as she recently commented, “I’ve been watching MasterChef since I was a girl sitting with my dad on the sofa. My whole family watches it… It’s all about uncovering champion talent – and to have ended up in this position is more than a dream to me.”
It will, however, mark acclaimed chef John Torode’s final season on the show after 20 years of judging.
Like previous seasons of Celebrity Masterchef, various guest food critics are likely to judge this year’s dishes, which may include Jay Rayner, Tom Parker Bowles, Tracey MacLeod, and William Sitwell.
