Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will mark the 22^nd release from the Call of Duty franchise, and it is the eighth video game from the Black Ops sub-series.

It follows Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (2024), which achieved the largest launch weekend in the iconic franchise’s history and received glowing reviews from critics and players.

The first-person shooter game averages approximately 50 million players, and many are likely excited for the release of Black Ops 7 on November 14, 2025.

The co-current production of Black Ops 6 and 7 led to a shorter waiting time between the two titles, as they were greenlit together.

Fans of the series were recently treated to a sneak peek of the upcoming game, as a cinematic trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was shown at the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025.

Many gamers will be thrilled to know Black Ops 7 will be available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

The Premise

Set in 2035, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 follows the events of Black Ops II, which was ten years earlier, and directly follows Black Ops 6.

During this time, the world is enduring considerable conflict and psychological warfare, causing David “Section” Mason to take control of the JSOC Unit.

His team of skilled agents, known as Specter One, must investigate the suspected return of deceased terrorist Raul Menendez, who plans to burn down the world within three days.

The Game Modes

Players can choose from the following three main game modes when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7:

• A co-op campaign – play solo or with friends
• Multiplayer – new maps and familiar features
• Round-based zombies

The game is playable with up to four players who can take control of players from the JSOC unit. Also, it will feature eleven missions, and successful completion of all will unlock an endgame activity.

The Zombie Mode

The zombie mode is known as “Ashes of the Damned.” The campaign follows the requiem crew after their battle to the top of Janus Towers, who are then teleported to a mirrored version of its plaza within a Dark Aether dimension.

The team will encounter alternative incarnations of Tank Dempsey, Edward Richtofen, Takeo Masaki, and Nikolai Belinski before a confrontation with a mystery figure who drains life essence from the crews and dispatches a wave of zombies.

As a result, Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Maya Aguinaldo, and Mackenzie Carver must work together to escape the plaza.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 14, 2025. It is available in a standard/cross-gen or vault edition.

Subscribers of specific Xbox Game Pass plans, such as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, can play the game on the release day.

The game will be available to play on various cloud gaming platforms, including Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now. Plus, it will be available on Steam and Battle.net on Windows.

Gamers who want to play via Windows must enable TMP 2.0 and Secure Boot on their system, as it will provide the strongest safeguard against cheaters during multiplayer matches.
