Britain’s Got Talent first aired on British TV screens in June 2007 and continues to attract between six to ten million viewers every series.
Based on the Got Talent franchise by Simon Cowell, the British talent competition is responsible for launching the careers of many successful acts, such as Susan Boyle (series 3 runner-up), Diversity (series 3 winner), Paul Potts (series 1 winner), and Calum Scott (a series 9 finalist).
Due to the show’s consistently high ratings and popularity with the British public, series 19 is scheduled to return to ITV and ITVX in early 2026.
Based on series 18, Britain’s Got Talent is likely to return to TV screens in February or March 2026, running into May and June 2026. However, keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement from ITV.
The Hosts
Britain’s Got Talent fans will be thrilled to know that national treasures Ant & Dec will return to host series 19.
The beloved duo has hosted the show since it launched in 2007, with series 19 falling into the end of their current multi-million contract with ITV.
The Judging Panel
Simon Cowell will return as Britain’s Got Talent’s head judge. Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon will also be back on the judging panel again.
Amanda Holden, a TV host and actress, is the longest-serving judge on the panel, appearing in the show since its first series.
Alesha Dixon, a singer/rapper and TV personality, joined the British talent competition in 2012 (series 6), replacing David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre.
KSI, a social media influencer and co-founder of Prime Hydration, will join the veteran judges on the panel, as he will permanently replace Bruno Tonioli.
KSI recently commented on becoming a permanent judge, “I’m so grateful and happy to be a part of Britain’s Got Talent’s team for another season. I had such a good time last year, and I can’t wait to see some more top talent. I’m full of energy, ready to go, and can’t wait to make this the most entertaining BGT season ever! Let’s do this.”
Stacey Solomon also served as a guest judge on one of the early audition days, stepping in for Simon Cowell when he was unwell.
The TV personality recently expressed her excitement at joining the judging panel on Instagram, writing, “I’ve last minute been asked to an absolutely dream job today, so Rose and me are going to get ready and head up there because it’s something she will love too.”
The Auditions
The auditions for Series 19 of Britain’s Got Talent took place outside of London, with most held at the Hippodrome Theatre in Birmingham and the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
The Birmingham auditions were held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, with Stacey Solomon appearing on the judging panel.
However, Simon returned to the main auditions in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on October 10, October 16, and October 17, 2025.
Judge Amanda Holden recently hinted at a dangerous stunt involving Simon Cowell at the Blackpool auditions.
When discussing the auditions on the Heart Breakfast Radio Show, she commented, “I’m not going to lie, Simon Cowell decided to sort of… well, he was involved in an act yesterday, is all I’m going to say. So dangerous that I looked at the producers and thought I didn’t know how sensible it was for him to be part of it.”
