What’s the Plot?
The film is named after the German bombing campaign against Great Britain in 1940 and 1941, known as “The Blitz.” The name was taken from the German word Blitzkrieg, translating as “lightning war” in English.
Blitz is set in World War II in London and tells the story of George, a defiant nine-year-old boy who is evacuated to the countryside and attempts to travel home. Aware her son is in danger, his mother, Rita, doesn’t hesitate to search for him.
