How Many Legs Will The Tournament Have?
The Betfred World Matchplay 2025 has a legs format. There is a strict rule that a game must be won by two clear legs. A tie-break isn’t given until the score is 12-12, meaning the 25th leg is the sudden death decider.
Also, the length of the legs will gradually increase throughout the tournament. It will follow the below format:

32 professional darts players will battle it out in the hope of winning the Betfred World Matchplay this year.

The top 16 players in the world rankings will automatically qualify for the Betfred World Matchplay 2025.

The winner of the Betfred World Matchplay 2025 will lift the Phil Taylor Trophy. Also, the event has a prize purse of £800,000, and the winner will receive the largest share of £200,000.
