Avengers: Doomsday arrives in movie theaters on December 18, 2026, and is the fifth film in the Avengers film series, following Avengers: Endgame (2019).
It will mark the 39th film from the MCU and follows your favorite superheroes, as they attempt to bring down Doctor Doom, including the Avengers, New Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, and the original X-Men team.

The Plot
Avengers: Doomsday will follow on fourteen months after the events that occurred in Thunderbolts* (2025). It will bring together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wakandans, New Avengers, and the original X-Men to battle Doctor Doom.
The post-credit scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps may provide an insight into the upcoming film, as Doctor Doom kidnapped Reed and Sue’s son, Franklin Richards, to use his reality-warping ability.

The Production
Production reportedly started on Avengers: Doomsday at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, on April 28, 2025.
Various parts of the movie were filmed in Bahrain in May 2025 before the production moved to Windsor Great Park, England, in June 2025.
The Marvel film is believed to have wrapped on September 19, 2025, but additional photography is expected before the film’s release date.
The Sequel
Avengers: Doomsday is a two-part conclusion to the Multiverse Saga and is followed by the sequel Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
While Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are being produced simultaneously like Infinity War and Endgame, the upcoming movies will not be filmed back-to-back, unlike the other films.
