The adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s novellas, the Tales of Dunk and Egg, will start from The Hedge Knight.
Written by Ira Parker, a House of Dragon writer, and George R.R. Martin, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will arrive on HBO on January 18, 2026.
The first season will consist of six 30-minute episodes, which is much shorter than the Game of Thrones.
The Plot
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall, a brave hedge knight, and his squire, Egg, who is secretly Prince Aegon Targaryen, the future king.
According to Ira Parker, the co-writer and showrunner, the upcoming series will be more character-driven and will feature less elaborate wars and magic than Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.
